The Atlanta Falcons’ schedule release video, themed around Mario Kart 64, has sparked controversy by appearing to mock Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson. The video, which premiered on Wednesday night as part of the NFL’s annual schedule announcement, features players like Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Michael Penix Jr. as playable characters for ‘ATL Kart.’ The video pays homage to a famous track, ‘Toad’s Turnpike,’ featuring Atlanta and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the background. As the race progresses, the video includes Atlanta-based rapper Ludacris counting down the race, with opponents appearing on the screen. However, the video takes an unexpected turn when it depicts two characters, seemingly representing Bel’tt and Hudson, with a sign that reads, ‘We’re not talking about this.’ This reference was a direct nod to Hudson’s comments during a CBS interview where he described how he met Belichick, resulting in a back-and-forth exchange with Belichick. Belichick, who interviewed for the Falcons’ head coaching position last year but was ultimately hired as UNC’s coach, has a complex relationship with the franchise. Additionally, the video subtly references Tom Brady and the DeflateGate scandal, with the Patriots’ car having flat tires beside a ‘Free Air’ sign. Although the Falcons were expected to contend for the NFC South title last season after acquiring Kirk Cousins, the team finished 8-9 after Cousins was benched for Tyjaeres Taylor in the season finale, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers claiming the division title.
