The House Oversight Committee, led by Republican Chair James Comer, has launched a formal inquiry into allegations that the former administration of President Joe Biden concealed his cognitive deterioration from the public. Comer is requesting transcribed interviews with four high-ranking former White House aides—Neera Tanden, Annie Tomasini, Anthony Bernal, and Ashley Williams—as well as his physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor. The investigation aims to determine whether these individuals facilitated the concealment of Biden’s decline through ‘behind-the-scenes’ coordination. The committee has previously attempted to subpoena these officials but claims the White House obstructed those efforts. Comer now threatens to issue subpoenas if they refuse to cooperate, calling the alleged cover-up a ‘historic scandal.’
