Blagojevich Criticizes Democrats, Calls Schiff ‘Elvis’ of Liars

Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich has launched a pointed critique of the Democratic Party, accusing it of unethical behavior and prioritizing political interests over the well-being of the country. Speaking during an interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters, Blagojevich accused the party of preferencing former President Joe Biden’s infirmities over moving on from him or accepting President Donald Trump as a potential successor, stating they ‘don’t care about America.’

Blagojevich, who was imprisoned in 2012 following his 2008 removal from office over allegations that he tried to sell then-Senator Barack Obama’s Senate seat, has long maintained his innocence and compared his prosecution to Trump’s legal issues. He claims he was a victim of malicious prosecution grounded in politics over proof, rather than actual wrongdoing.

During the interview, Blagojevich highlighted what he perceives as Democrats’ hypocrisy, particularly in their handling of former President Biden’s health. He accused the party of preferring a ‘coma’ patient, Biden, over other contenders like Kamala Harris, to maintain their political gains. He stated, ‘They’d rather have a comatose Biden than Kamala Harris,’ a remark that was met with a quip from Watters, who jokingly remarked, ‘I’d say that guy hates the American people and hates his constituents and hates even Democratic voters.’

Blagojevich also took a jab at Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, whom he called the ‘Elvis of liars.’ He claimed that if there was a ‘Hall of Fame for Liars,’ Schiff would be the ‘king of the liars.’ Blagojevich accused Democrats of making untrue statements about Trump, such as the Russian collusion allegations and the Stormy Daniels affair, and called for them to atone for their actions. He remarked, ‘Nobody who has any common sense could believe anything they say,’ indicating he believes Democrats are the bigger liars.

Blagojevich’s comments come amid ongoing discussions about the 25th Amendment, which he suggested could have been used to remove Biden from office if the party had chosen to do so. This has reignited debates about the political process and the potential for removing a president under certain conditions, which has been a topic of conversation in both political and legal circles. This situation reflects the ongoing polarization within American politics, with Blagojevich representing a conservative viewpoint that criticizes the Democratic Party for its actions and perceived dishonesty.

Overall, Blagojevich’s remarks underscore the deepening ideological divide within the United States and the growing frustration with the political process, as former leaders and critics continue to voice their criticisms of the current political landscape. His comments are likely to fuel further discussions about political ethics, the role of media in shaping public opinion, and the future of the Democratic Party’s approach to leadership and crisis management.
