Neighbor’s Testimony Reveals Contrasting Portrait of Boulder Terror Attack Suspect

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, is facing federal hate crime charges and state charges of attempted first-degree murder for allegedly throwing Molotov cocktails at a pro-Israel gathering in Boulder, Colorado, during a Sunday attack that left 12 people injured. The suspect, who is accused of using explosive devices during the incident, is reportedly married with five children, who played with other neighborhood children in Boulder.

A neighbor, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, described Soliman as a ‘really nice guy’ and a family man, noting that he and his wife frequently greeted them when outside and invited them to their home. The neighbor emphasized that Soliman’s wife, a stay-at-home mom, was known for her generosity, especially during Ramadan, when she would provide food to other neighbors.

According to federal court documents, Soliman told authorities that he had been planning the attack for a year and chose to carry it out after his daughter’s graduation. He reportedly stated that he wanted to kill ‘all Zionist people’ and believed they were taking over ‘our land,’ which he referred to as Palestine. The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from US politicians and Jewish groups, who have called the attack ‘horrifying’ and ‘vile’ in nature.

It has been revealed that Soliman entered the US on a work visa two years ago that has since expired, and he was working for Uber in 2023. Uber confirmed that he met all legal requirements for their drivers, including a criminal background check, and that he had no concerning feedback while driving with the company. Soliman was booked into the Boulder County Jail on Sunday evening and remains held on a $10 million bond.
