Orlando Magic’s Jonathan Isaac Launches Faith-Based Apparel Brand with Christian Values

Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac has launched UNITUS, a faith-based apparel brand that incorporates Christian values into sportswear through visible Bible verses. The brand, which Isaac created after ending his contract with Nike following a torn ACL, aims to inspire unity and purpose by connecting individuals to their faith. Isaac, who was advised by his pastor to start his own sneaker line, emphasizes that his brand is a personal expression of his beliefs rather than an imposition on others. The brand’s initial focus was on creating a shoe with a visible Bible verse, such as the Judah 1 model, but it has since expanded into an entire line of activewear and footwear. Isaac also acknowledged the challenges of dealing with public feedback, especially on social media, and stressed the importance of maintaining a balance between his athletic and personal life. Customers can now purchase UNITUS’ new activewear line beginning in early June.

Isaac’s journey to launching UNITUS began after he tore his ACL in 2020 and was released from Nike. During his rehab, he spoke to his pastor, who encouraged him to create his own sneaker line. The pastor challenged Isaac to be a leader in the independent sneaker space, which led to the birth of UNITUS. Isaac’s brand, which is named after his belief in a global movement for positive change, includes clothing and footwear with visible Bible verses. The brand’s mission is to inspire and empower individuals to live in greater unity, freedom, strength, and purpose. Isaac’s pastor also advised him to use his platform to spread his faith, as he does on the basketball court with his visible verses.

Isaac is not new to expressing his beliefs publicly. However, doing so has often led to backlash. He acknowledged that managing public feedback is a challenge, especially on social media platforms like X. Isaac emphasized the need to spend as little time as possible on these platforms, as the constant feedback can be overwhelming. He reminded the public that, despite the high level of scrutiny in sports, athletes are still human and face personal issues. Isaac also stressed that his brand is not about forcing his values on others, but rather about creating a product that aligns with his personal beliefs and serves as a medium for others to connect with their faith.

Isaac’s new activewear line, which is set to launch in early June, includes a variety of sportswear options. The brand’s expansion into activewear reflects its broader mission of integrating faith into daily life. Isaac’s brand has become a symbol of personal expression and faith, with the visible Bible verses on his clothing serving as a reminder of his beliefs. As Isaac continues to navigate his career in the NBA, UNITUS represents his commitment to using his platform to make a positive impact beyond the basketball court.
