FBI Warns Protests Against ICE Could Lead to Arrests Amid Los Angeles Riots

Los Angeles has witnessed escalating violent anti-ICE protests, prompting a strong federal response as law enforcement officials vow to prosecute those who attack federal agents. During the riots, protesters attacked Border Patrol agents with rocks, leading to the deployment of the National Guard to ensure the safety of law enforcement personnel. FBI Director Kash Patel emphasized that assault on officers will result in criminal charges, irrespective of the protesters’ origins or political affiliations.

President Donald Trump directed the deployment of 2,000 National Guardsmen to Paramount, California, following reports of protesters pelted Border, Patrol agents with rocks, stones, and concrete, causing significant damage to government vehicles. U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael W. Banks shared an image of a Border Patrol agent’s injured hand, highlighting the dangers faced by federal officers during the unrest.

The situation has intensified with the federal government vowing to take decisive action against the violent protests. Federal officials, including DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, have issued stern warnings to protesters, emphasizing that any act of violence against law enforcement will be met with full prosecution. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has also indicated that the bureau is actively seeking the identities of those responsible for the recent attacks, urging potential perpetrators to surrender themselves.

These incidents have led to several arrests for assault on federal agents, according to officials. The National Guard’s deployment reflects the gravity of the situation and the federal government’s commitment to protecting law enforcement personnel from violent confrontations. As the protests continue, the federal response is shaping up to be comprehensive and decisive, with a focus on maintaining order and ensuring the safety of all law enforcement officers.
