Former NFL Star Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Police Officer in Latest Legal Trouble

Adam “Pacman” Jones, the former NFL cornerback, was arrested in Kentucky on Saturday morning after allegedly assaulting a police officer, as well as facing charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. The 41-year-old was reportedly apprehended by Covington police, who claimed he attacked an officer during the incident. This incident follows a string of legal issues for Jones, who recently faced charges at the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson boxing match in Texas. According to Kenton County Jail records, Jones was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assaulting an officer. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that Jones is accused of assaulting a Covington police officer, though the specific circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear.

Jones is not facing this charge for the first time this year. He had been involved in a similar incident at the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson boxing match in Arlington, Texas months ago. At the time, Jones was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer at the Lowes Arlington Hotel, which is less than a mile from AT&T Stadium, the venue for the Paul-Tyson fight. According to police reports, Jones was involved in a physical altercation at the hotel’s bar around 1 a.m. After an officer arrived and attempted to de-escalate the situation, Jones reportedly continued to approach and yell at those involved.

Jones was then involved in another fight at the same hotel, where he allegedly hit an officer on her arm. The officer informed Jones that he would be arrested. His legal troubles extended further back, with Jones being arrested in 2023 after an argument with an airline employee at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. He was charged with alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, and terroristic threatening after an incident involving USB ports. While Jones pled guilty to disorderly conduct, the other charges were dropped.

Despite his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, and Denver Broncos, Jones faced ongoing legal challenges, leading to suspensions by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. He played 12 seasons in the NFL, retiring in 2018. The incident in Kentucky marks the latest in a series of legal issues that have characterized his life after football.
