Former NFL offensive lineman Terron Armstead, who spent 12 years in the league and earned four Pro Bowl selections with the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins, has announced his retirement. The 33-year-old player cited chronic injuries as a major reason for ending his career. Armstead revealed that he has battled knee pain since his third season, to the point where he was unable to walk after games. He described how the pain forced him to rely on medication to play, and that he could only perform under the influence of painkillers. The former Saints and Dolphins player, who was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, retired in April after playing his final three seasons with the Dolphins.
