WWE stars Seth Rollins and Naomi emerged as clear top contenders for the men’s and women’s WWE championships respectively after their impressive victories in the Money in the Bank ladder matches on Saturday night.
Rollins’ path was anything but easy, as he faced off against LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, Andrade, El Grande Americano, and Penta. Throughout the match, Rollins received crucial support from Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker, who helped to undermine some of the competition’s potential. Meanwhile, Jacob Fatu and JC Mateo tried to assist Sikoa, but Fatu’s betrayal led to a decisive moment in the match, as he turned on Sikoa and put him through the ladder, effectively removing him from contention.
Despite Knight’s earlier attempts to seize the briefcase, Rollins countered the situation by pulling Knight down and disrupting his BFT attempt. He then executed a powerful Stomp, solidifying his position at the top of the ladder. This victory marks Rollins’ second time winning the Money in the Bank match, following his successful cash-in at WrestleMania 31. Now, Rollins faces the possibility of a confrontation with either John Cena or Jey Uso.
Naomi’s victory in the women’s division was equally decisive. With no clear favorite, she faced off against Giulia, Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, and Stephanie Vaquer. Despite the odds, Naomi’s strategic moves and determination gave her the edge. She disrupted the momentum of two of the final contenders—Ripley and Bliss—by tipping the ladder over, sending Bliss crashing to the mat and Ripley onto another ladder. Naomi then climbed the ladder and secured the briefcase, ensuring her position as a top contender for the WWE women’s championship.
With the briefcase in hand, Naomi now faces the challenge of a potential title shot against either Tiffany Stratton or Iyo Sky. Additionally, her ongoing feud with Jade Cargill adds another layer of intrigue to her storyline as she prepares for her next major confrontation. Both Rollins and Naomi are set to make their mark on the WWE championship scene, with their victories at Money in the Bank providing a strong foundation for the buildup to WrestleMania.
