Markwayne Mullin has suggested that the provision might be omitted temporarily. Mullin, a key negotiator between House and Senate Republicans, emphasized the importance of dialogue over immediate resolution of the SALT cap issue. He noted that Finance Chair Mike Crapo and a group of blue-state House Republicans were engaged in sensitive discussions about the $40,000 SALT cap, which has been a point of contention.
