Two Las Vegas hotels, Treasure Island and Luxor, are facing lawsuits over bedbug infestations that have caused severe injuries to guests. Attorney Brian Virag, representing the affected individuals, highlighted the issues as guests reported bites, allergic reactions, and emotional trauma. The incidents, which occurred in the summer of 2024, have led to three lawsuits filed in April against both resorts.
Teresa Bruce, a guest at Treasure Island, noticed bites on her body during her June 21 stay. Despite switching rooms, she encountered more bites, leading to claims of harm and offense. The hotel confirmed the presence of bedbugs after a risk management team was sent. Meanwhile, Stephen and Courtney Gully, who stayed at Luxor on June 8, described their bites as swelling and becoming aggravated, with Courtney experiencing severe throat symptoms requiring a hospital visit.
Brianna McKenzie, who stayed at Luxor on July 16, also filed a complaint, alleging she was ‘massacred by bedbugs’ and suffering from emotional distress. Virag emphasized the need for resort owners to prioritize guest safety by training housekeepers and maintaining strict pest control protocols. He warned that bedbugs reproduce quickly and urged guests to document any incidents to support their claims. Both hotels have not yet responded to the complaints, but Virag expects a response soon.
