Cypriot officials have announced the rediscovery of the Sanctuary of Apollo at Frangissa, marking a significant archaeological find. Initially uncovered in the 19th century by German archaeologist Max Ohnefalsch-Richter, the site fell into obscurity after being hastily buried. Recent excavations have revealed hundreds of votive statues, including colossal figures and new types of artifacts, shedding light on ancient rituals and the site’s continued importance through the Cypriot kingdoms.
