Norwegian Royal Stepson Faces Multiple Rape and Assault Charges

Marius Borg Høiby, the stepson of Norway’s crown princess and heir to the throne, is facing multiple charges of rape, sexual assault, and bodily harm, according to Oslo Police. The investigation, which spanned over a month, revealed that the number of victims was initially in the double digits before being reduced to seven. The charges include one case of rape with intercourse, two cases of rape without intercourse, four cases of sexual assault, and two instances of bodily harm. The case has sparked widespread attention due to the royal family’s involvement, with the Royal House of Norway stating that it has no comment to offer.

Oslo Police Attorney Andreas Kruszewski confirmed that the investigation included comprehensive efforts, with numerous witness interviews, multiple searches, and a thorough review of digital material. Høiby’s attorney, Petar Sekul, has claimed that the accused is taking the allegations very seriously but remains confident that the accusations are incorrect. Despite the legal proceedings, the royal family has distanced itself from the case, maintaining that the issue is being handled through the judicial system.

The case has raised significant public interest and discussions about accountability within high-profile families. While the investigation continues, the royal family has not provided any further statement, leaving the matter in the hands of the legal system to resolve. This incident highlights the ongoing challenges of addressing sexual violence within influential circles and underscores the importance of thorough legal processes in such cases.
