A Christian pastor from Egypt, who fled the oppressive regime of Gamal Abdel Nasser, has shared his views on Iran’s nuclear program. According to him, the Iranian regime is driven by a combination of religious ideology and a desire for apocalyptic conflict. He outlines three key factors that explain this nuclear obsession.
First, he argues that Cold War-era deterrence strategies are ineffective against Iran’s Shiite Islamic ideology, which does not adhere to Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) logic. Second, he highlights the religious motivation for nuclear war, rooted in Twelver Shiite beliefs that require an apocalyptic conflict to reveal the long-hidden Mahdi. Third, he warns that a nuclear-armed Iran poses a significant threat to Western civilization, given its missile capabilities and strategic development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). The pastor calls for support for the Iranian people’s quest for freedom and urges Western leaders to act decisively.
The pastor, who has lived under Islamo-socialism in Egypt, expresses deep compassion for the Iranian people, who he believes only want to live in peace. He highlights that Iran’s leaders are committed to a death-cult ideology and a nuclear showdown with Western civilization. He also notes that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) claims Iran has enough highly enriched uranium to build nine nuclear warheads, despite Iran’s denial of a nuclear weapons program.
The pastor emphasizes the need for Western leaders to understand the religious and ideological motivations behind Iran’s nuclear ambitions and to support the Iranian people’s struggle for freedom. He calls for a united effort to prevent the potential threat posed by a nuclear-armed Iran, which he believes could destabilize Europe and North America.
