EU Allocates EUR 76 Million for Euroline Lviv-Poland Construction

The European Union has allocated EUR 76 million in grant aid to Ukraine for the construction of the Euroline railway project, which aims to connect Lviv to the Polish border. The decision was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba, who serves as the Minister of Community and Territorial Development, via his Telegram channel. This investment is part of Ukraine’s broader strategy to modernize its transportation infrastructure and improve regional connectivity, particularly with its Western European neighbors.

The Euroline project is expected to significantly enhance Ukraine’s transport network, facilitating the movement of goods and people between Lviv and Poland. This improved connectivity is crucial for Ukraine’s economic development, as it will support trade and logistics operations. The grant is part of the EU’s financial assistance to Ukraine, which has been increasing since the start of the war in 2022. The project is anticipated to create numerous jobs and boost local industries in the Lviv region.

Deputy Prime Minister Kuleba emphasized the importance of the Euroline project in strengthening Ukraine’s economic ties with the European Union. The grant is a testament to the EU’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s recovery and development. The project is also expected to contribute to the overall stability of the region by improving infrastructure and promoting cross-border cooperation. The grant is part of a larger package of financial assistance aimed at rebuilding Ukraine’s infrastructure and supporting its long-term economic growth.
