NATO Jets Scrambled as Russia Launches Largest Drone Attack on Ukraine

Ukraine’s military has successfully neutralized hundreds of Russian drones during its largest aerial attack on the country, with NATO and Polish forces scrambling to respond to the threat. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the assault involved over 700 drones and 13 missiles, emphasizing the use of advanced interceptor technology to counter the attack.

The attack, targeting the northwestern city of Lutsk, saw Ukraine’s Air Force report that air defenses neutralized 718 enemy air attack vehicles, with 303 shot down by fire and 415 lost in location. Polish military operations in the airspace bordering Ukraine were activated but later concluded as the threat level decreased. Russia claimed to have hit Ukrainian air bases and reported shooting down 86 Ukrainian drones across six regions, including the Moscow area.

Zelenskyy criticized Russia’s refusal to engage in ceasefire talks, calling for increased sanctions against Russia’s oil imports that have fueled the conflict for over three years. The attack comes amid mounting concerns over the ongoing war and its impact on both sides. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, with calls for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
