On June 14, Vance Boelter, a 57-year-old man, is accused of carrying out a politically motivated assassination by gunning down two Democratic lawmakers in Minnesota. The shootings, which took place at the home of former state House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, as well as nearby where state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were killed, have sparked a massive investigation into the suspect’s motivations and actions. Authorities allege Boelter, dressed as a law enforcement officer, drove a police-like vehicle and was armed before entering the homes. He allegedly shot the two lawmakers and their spouses before being chased by police and eventually captured during a two-day manhunt.
Boelter, who is currently in custody at the Sherburne County Jail, has been engaging in a series of interviews with journalists, particularly New York Post reporters, through messages and two separate 20-minute video calls. In these communications, he has been attempting to dispel certain theories surrounding the alleged murders. He initially denied any link to Donald Trump or pro-life beliefs, referencing an unreleased letter that he claims holds important information about the attacks. The letter, which has not yet been released to the public, was discovered at the crime scene along with multiple
