Fox News Maintains Lead in Primetime Ratings, Outperforming Broadcast Networks for Third Week in a Row

For the third consecutive week, Fox News has outperformed the major broadcast networks, according to Nielsen Media Research data. During the week of July 7-13, the network averaged 2.4 million viewers in primetime, surpassing NBC’s 2.2 million and CBS and ABC’s 2 million each. This trend aligns with Fox News’ consistent performance since Memorial Day, where the network has averaged three million viewers in weekday primetime, leading all television networks. The network’s dominance has also extended into the summer season, with Fox News leading broadcast competition in weekday primetime viewership since June 20.

Among its programming, Fox News’ ‘The Five’ delivered an impressive 3.5 million viewer numbers and outperformed other cable news programs in the 25-54 demographic. The network’s success is also marked by its performance in the top 100 cable telecasts, with 97 of them airing on Fox News during the week, including notable coverage of the Wimbledon tennis event. Despite the coverage, Fox News maintained its lead in viewership, showcasing the network’s appeal across various genres and events.

Looking at the broader picture, Fox News has been achieving historic ratings in the second quarter of 2025, surpassing ABC and NBC among viewers during the quarter and topping CBS among both total viewers and the demographic for the month of June. This continued dominance marks the sixth consecutive quarter in which Fox News has led all cable networks in both total day and primetime viewership. The network’s consistent performance has positioned it as a staple in the television landscape, with its programming resonating with a wide audience across different demographics.
