Ukraine Imposes Anti-Dumping Duties on Turkish Cucumbers and Tomatoes to Promote Fair Trade
The Ukrainian government has imposed anti-dumping duties on Turkish cucumbers and tomatoes to protect its domestic vegetable growers from unfair competition. This decision was implemented after a thorough assessment by the Ministry of Economy and the Interdepartmental Commission for International Trade (ICIT), which supported the move to ensure fair market conditions for Ukrainian producers.
Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval expressed gratitude towards the Ministry of Economy and ICIT for their collaboration in this decision. “We have taken this step to ensure that our farmers are not disadvantaged by unfair trade practices,” Koval stated in a press release.
The anti-dumping duties are expected to level the playing field for Ukrainian vegetable growers, who have been facing competitive pressure from Turkish imports. The move is part of a broader effort to strengthen domestic agriculture and protect local producers from dumping practices that could harm the market.
