EU Announces Expansion of Ukraine Aid Fund to 100 Billion Euros

The European Union has proposed a significant expansion of its financial support for Ukraine, with a new Ukraine Facility budget of up to 100 billion euros for the period 2028–2034. This represents a doubling of the current Ukraine Facility, which was approved in February 2024 and is set to run through 2027. The decision comes as part of the EU’s broader strategy to support Ukraine’s defense and recovery efforts amidst the ongoing conflict with Russia.
