Andriy Yermak, head of Ukraine’s President’s Office, met with EU officials, including Simon Mordue, Deputy Director General of the Directorate-General for Enlargement and Neighbourhood, and Katar’ina Mathernova, the European Union Ambassador to Ukraine, to discuss financial support for Ukraine and prospects for EU membership negotiations. The meeting highlighted the importance of securing continued financial assistance from the EU amid ongoing conflict and emphasized the need for progress in Ukraine’s path toward EU integration.
During the discussions, both parties focused on the implementation of financial aid measures pledged by the EU to support Ukraine’s recovery and defense capabilities. Additionally, the talks addressed the ongoing negotiations regarding Ukraine’s potential accession to the European Union, with both sides expressing a commitment to advancing the process despite current geopolitical challenges.
Yermak reiterated Ukraine’s strong commitment to aligning with EU standards and values, underscoring the country’s readiness to meet the necessary criteria for membership.
