FOX Sports and Barstool Sports announced a new partnership aimed at enhancing their coverage of college football and college basketball. In a statement, the companies revealed that Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, will become a regular contributor on FOX Sports’ ‘Big Noon Kickoff’ starting in the fall. Other Barstool personalities, including Dan Katz, known as ‘Big Cat,’ will also appear on the show.
FOX Sports CEO and Executive Producer Eric Shanks expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting Dave Portnoy’s unique brand and its ability to connect with a new generation of sports fans. The partnership is designed to support FOX Sports’ evolving multiplatform content strategy. Portnoy, in turn, echoed this excitement, noting the opportunity to work with FOX Sports’ extensive talent and resources, emphasizing their shared goals in the sports media industry.
As part of the new partnership, Barstool Sports’ ‘Barstool College Football Show’ will travel with ‘Big Noon Kickoff’ for select games throughout the season. The show will air on Barstool-owned channels, Tubi, the Fox Sports App, and FoxSports.com from 9-9:45 a.m. ET. The collaboration will also include a live two-hour program that will air on FS1 Monday through Friday, with more details to be announced later.
The partnership underscores a growing trend in the sports media industry, where traditional and digital platforms are increasingly collaborating to provide diverse and engaging content to fans. The integration of Barstool’s content into FOX Sports’ platforms is expected to attract a broader audience and create more interactive and dynamic programming for sports enthusiasts.
