Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced renewed mockery from the animated series ‘Family Guy’ in its latest episode, marking a second time the royal couple has been targeted. In the July 17 episode, ‘Twain’s World,’ characters Brian and Stewie, both voiced by creator Seth MacFarlane, travel back in time. Stewie warns Brian that taking a certain action while traveling through the past could ‘change the course of history,’ to which Brian responds with a blunt remark about the past being ‘pretty much suck.’ The show then takes a jab at the Sussexes by referencing historical atrocities before comparing them to figures like Hitler and the Crusades. Stewie quips, ‘Prince Harry marrying Meghan Markle,’ prompting a cutaway gag where Harry watches the episode, reacting with frustration at the joke.
‘Family Guy,’ known for its irreverent humor and satirical takes on pop culture, previously mocked the Sussexes in a 2023 episode. In that episode, main character Peter Griffin, also voiced by MacFarlane, jokes about seeking financial independence by ‘going it alone, just like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.’ The episode then cuts to cartoon versions of Harry and Meghan poolside, with a butler delivering an envelope containing their net worth. Markle then receives a notification on her phone for a sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco, highlighting their public engagement and financial dealings. The animated prince sighs, ‘I shouldn’t have left the made-up nonsense,’ reflecting the show’s continued mockery of their public image.
