NABU Clarifies No Evidence of Employee Ties to Russian Intelligence

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has announced that there is no evidence or testimony linking an NABU employee to Russian special services. The Bureau’s statement clarifies that the employee in question shared information with a State Protection Authority representative, who was subsequently exposed for collaborating with Russian intelligence. NABU emphasized that no involvement in anti-state activities has been established, and the employee’s actions do not constitute any form of collaboration with Russian intelligence.

The investigation into the employee’s conduct was prompted after the State Protection Authority representative was uncovered to have been cooperating with Russian intelligence. NABU conducted a thorough review of all available evidence and testimony, concluding that there is no substantiated connection between the employee and Russian special services. The Bureau’s statement underscores its commitment to upholding anti-corruption standards and ensuring the integrity of its operations.

NABU’s findings are significant in the context of ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, where allegations of collusion with Russian intelligence have been a point of contention. The Bureau’s clarification aims to dispel any potential misunderstandings or misinformation regarding the employee’s actions. The statement also highlights the importance of maintaining the credibility of anti-corruption institutions amidst political and security challenges.
