Syrian Inquiry Exonerates Military Leaders in March Sectarian Killings

A UN inquiry has reportedly exonerated Syrian military leaders of orchestrating sectarian killings during a violent period in March. The findings, released by a fact-finding committee, examined the outbreak of violence in Baniyās, which saw some of the most severe sectarian incidents in the country that month. Nevertheless, the report has been met with skepticism from human rights organizations, which claim it does not hold Syria’s security forces responsible for the loss of life.
