The move comes amid ongoing efforts to secure transparency in the Epstein case, which has become a focal point for legislative and public accountability. Rep. James Comer, the committee’s chairman, emphasized that the deposition is part of an investigation into how federal authorities handle sex trafficking cases and the role of non-prosecution agreements. In a letter to Maxwell, Comer stated,
