The Batkivshchyna faction, led by former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, has announced its intention to submit an alternative presidential bill to parliament. The proposal aims to strengthen the powers of the National Anti-corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) to enhance their effectiveness in curbing corruption within the country.
Tymoshenko emphasized that the bill would grant these institutions greater authority to investigate high-profile cases, streamline judicial procedures, and ensure greater transparency in the anti-corruption process. The initiative is part of broader efforts to reform Ukraine’s governance structure and align it with international anti-corruption standards. The proposed legislation is expected to face scrutiny from various political factions and legal experts as it moves through the legislative process.
