Illegal Immigrant Charged with Murder After Shooting 15-Year-Old Kentucky Boy Who Tried to Protect His Mother

On July 20, a violent incident unfolded in a family apartment in Kentucky, resulting in the tragic death of a 15-year-old boy who intervened to protect his mother from an alleged illegal immigrant’s violent assault. Gildardo Amandor-Martinez, a 36-year-old Mexican citizen, is accused of shooting and killing Luis Jocsan Nanez Lopez, the teen, who attempted to stop Martinez from raping his mother during the attack. The incident also left the teen’s younger sister injured, as she was present during the assault.

Authorities revealed that Martinez was returning from a bar around 2:30 a.m. when he attempted to have sex with his girlfriend without her consent. She screamed as she tried to stop him, prompting the teen to enter his mother’s room to seek help. Martinez allegedly told Lopez to leave, but the mother insisted on discussing the matter in the morning. When Martinez tried to leave, he grabbed a pistol and fire through the door multiple times, killing Lopez. The mother fled the apartment with her other children, including a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, while hearing additional gunshots as she ran away.

Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin condemned the act, labeling Martinez a ‘rapist and cold-blooded killer’ who should not have been in the U.S. ICE placed a detainer on Martinez, who is charged with murder, first-degree assault, and attempted rape. Martinez is accused of illegally entering the U.S. under the Biden administration’s open-border policies, which the administration has criticized for allowing such a violent individual to walk American streets and commit heinous crimes. The case has reignited political debates over immigration policy and the impact of Biden’s border policies on public safety.
