Ukraine Establishes Working Group for Roam Like at Home Implementation

Ukraine’s National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radiofrequency Spectrum and the Provision of Postal Services (NCEC) has resolved to establish a working group to implement the Roam Like at Home (RLAH) initiative. This decision was announced following a recent meeting, during which the commission highlighted the importance of improving cross-border mobile services for Ukrainian citizens and international visitors. The RLAH initiative aims to allow users to access mobile services at domestic rates while roaming within the European Union and other participating countries.

The working group will consist of experts from various sectors, including telecommunications, regulatory affairs, and consumer protection, to ensure the effective implementation of the RLAH initiative. NCEC’s press service stated that the group will monitor the progress of the integration process and address any challenges that may arise during the rollout. The initiative is expected to benefit millions of Ukrainian mobile users, providing them with more affordable and reliable roaming options while traveling abroad.

Implementing the RLA, H initiative aligns with Ukraine’s broader goals of enhancing digital connectivity and integrating with European digital markets. The move is seen as a positive step towards improving services for consumers and fostering greater cooperation between Ukrainian telecommunications providers and their European counterparts. As the working group begins its tasks, stakeholders are encouraged to stay informed about the progress of this important regulatory initiative.
