Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Katarína Mathernová, has publicly applauded the recent legislative action by Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada which reinstates the institutional independence of key anti-corruption entities such, as the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the State Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). This move has been highlighted as a significant step towards reinforcing the fight against corruption and improving democratic governance within Ukraine, with implications that extend beyond its borders, influencing EU-wide perspectives on the importance of such reforms.
