Tripadvisor’s latest survey, which analyzed millions of reviews, revealed that Dollywood in Tennessee has claimed the top spot among America’s amusement parks, surpassing even the iconic Disney parks. The report, part of the ‘Best of the Best Things to Do’ series, assessed over eight million opinions from the Tripadvisor community over the past 12 months, offering an insight into the most popular and highly-rated destinations for entertainment and leisure.
Dollywood, which is co-owned by Dolly Parton, has been celebrated for its family-friendly atmosphere and its unique blend of music, art, and adventure. Visitors can enjoy 50 rides across 160 acres, along with performances, live music, and art exhibitions that reflect Parton’s cultural impact. The park’s dedication to guest comfort, evident in shaded areas and free ice water, has also been recognized by reviewers.
The rankings included several notable parks, with Magic Kingdom Park in Florida securing the second position. Known as ‘The Most Magical Place on Earth,’ the park boasts beloved Disney attractions such as Space Mountain, Jungle Cruise, and Cinderella’s Castle, complemented by nightly fireworks and character meet-and-greets. Third place was claimed by Knoebels Amusement Resort, a family-owned park since 1926, which is noted for its free-admission policy and diverse offerings, from roller coasters to a championship golf course.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios followed in fourth place, featuring high-speed rides like the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Universal Islands of Adventure in Orlando rounded out the top five, renowned for its immersive experiences, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Velocicoaster. These rankings reflect the preferences of travelers, highlighting the strengths and unique attributes of each park that contribute to their appeal.
