Fashion Entrepreneur Found Dead on Boat at Montauk Yacht Club, Homicide Investigation Underway

Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra, a 33-year-old Manhattan fashion entrepreneur known for her high-end bikini brand and infectious social media presence, was found dead aboard a boat at the Montauk Yacht Club in Suffolk County. The body was discovered by a man who called 911 shortly after midnight, prompting a response from East Hampton Town officers and nearby volunteers. Although attempts to revive the woman were made, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Suffolk County homicide detectives are now investigating into the circumstances of her death, with the preliminary investigation and medical examination yielding inconclusive results.

According to police, the woman was found unresponsive aboard a docked boat at the luxury marina, located on Star Island Road. Nearby good Samaritans attempted CPR before first responders arrived, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Suffolk County Police Department noted that the Homicide Squad is leading the investigation into the death of the 33-year-old Manhattan woman who was found unresponsive aboard the vessel. Despite the upscale setting, investigators are not deterred by the location, emphasizing that the scene is a crime scene that could move, requiring a court order to freeze it.

Nolan, originally from Carlow, Ireland, was the founder of East x East, a boutique resort wear label she frequently promoted on TikTok through stylish behind-the-scenes glimpses of her photo shoots and design process. Her most recent posts included a July video celebrating a pop-up appearance at Gurney’s Resort in Montauk, captioned ‘Goals Achieved,’ highlighting the culmination of her marketing efforts in the Hamptons. Her LinkedIn profile indicates that she received her Bachelor of Commerce and Master’s degree in Digital Marketing from University College Dublin before moving to the Big Apple at 26-years-old.

Authorities said the preliminary investigation and medical exam were ‘inconclusive’ as to the cause of death. An official ruling will be made following an autopsy by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office. Former NYPD inspector and Fox News contributor Paul Mauro explained that the detectives will begin with standard procedures, including interviews with the boat owner, others potentially on the boat that night, other boat owners nearby, members of the yacht club, and conducting digital forensics, including reviewing phones and video. He emphasized that the investigation will continue regardless of the location, as the scene is a crime scene that could move, requiring a court order to freeze it.

The Montauk Yacht Club, a haven for summer tourism and upscale clientele, has been rocked by this incident, with a spokesperson for the club confirming the occurrence but declining to provide further details. ‘We are saddened to learn of the incident that took place,’ the spokesperson said to Fox News Digital. ‘Our team is cooperating with law enforcement in their ongoing investigation and remains committed to the safety and well-being of our guests and staff. We have no further comment at this time.’
