Berry filed for divorce in April 1996, citing irreconcilable differences, and Justice followed up with his own divorce papers two weeks later. The divorce was finalized in June 1997. During the podcast interview, Justice discussed the issues that led to their split, acknowledging his lack of relationship experience and traditional expectations about a wife’s role at the time.

Justice, who was at the height of his career in the mid-1990s, noted that his expectations for a traditional role of a wife were part of the growing tension in their relationship.
