TikTok Influencer’s Husband Faces Legal Scrutiny Over Son’s Drowning in Family Pool

Three-year-old Trigg Kiser drowned in the family pool in Chandler, Arizona, after falling in unsupervised for seven minutes following his father placing a basketball bet. The police report indicated that Brady Kiser’s attention was divided when his son drowned, having just placed a $25 bet on Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum to score more than 40 points in a game against the New York Knicks.

At the time of the incident, Emilie Kiser, a TikTok influencer with over three million followers, was out to dinner with friends. Brady Kiser had placed the wager at around 5:15 p.m. The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m., when Trigg was playing in the backyard. Three minutes later, he fell into the pool, where he remained for seven minutes. Surveillance footage from the home captured Trigg’s activities, showing he tripped and fell into the water while playing with an inflatable chair.

Despite the circumstances, the Maricopa County prosecutors declined to charge Brady Kiser with a felony related to child abuse, stating that the evidence did not meet the legal standards for conviction. They emphasized that the prosecution requires a showing of gross deviation from the standard of care a reasonable person would exhibit. Meanwhile, Emilie Kiser has filed a lawsuit against the state to prevent the release of investigative records related to her son’s tragic death, underscoring the broader implications of the case.
