A Georgia judge has denied bond for 17-year-old Sarah Grace Patrick, who is accused of killing her parents, citing flight risk and potential witness intimidation concerns. The case has captured national attention due to the teen’s social media presence and the nature of the crime.
Sarah Grace Patrick, 17, is accused of murdering her mother, Kristin Brock, 41, and stepfather, James Brock, 45, inside their home on Feb. 20, according to authorities. The couple was found shot to death after Patrick’s 5-year-old sister discovered their bodies and the teen called 911. The case gained media attention due to Patrick’s social media posts, where she allegedly raised awareness about the crime. In the days after the murders, Patrick took to social media to bring attention to the case as authorities searched for the killer. She subsequently turned herself in on July 8.
In an emotional, two-hour bond hearing, advocates for Patrick described the teen as a church-going young woman with a lack of criminal history. The prosecution, however, argued that Patrick could attempt to intimidate witnesses or pose a significant flight risk if released. The judge denied bond, citing these concerns.
