A former aide to New York City Mayor Eric Adams is accused of attempting to bribe a reporter by hiding cash inside a bag of potato chips. The incident allegedly occurred during a campaign event in Harlem, where Winnie Greco, a longtime Adams ally, reportedly gave the cash to City Hall reporter Katie Honan. According to The City, the event took place after a campaign event in Harlem, where Greco, who is currently a part of Adams’ campaign team, met with Honan near the opening of Adams’ new Harlem campaign office. The two then walked to a Whole Foods next door, where Greco handed Hon’t a bag of Herr’s Sour Cream & Onion ripple potato chips. Honan, according to the publication, believed Greco was offering a snack and initially refused, but the former aide insisted she keep it.
