President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a new law that guarantees 15 days of paid leave for military personnel engaged in combat operations. This legislative action, which was announced by Deputy Head of the President’s Office, Pavlo Palisa, includes an additional 5 days of leave beyond the standard 10 days, with the extra 14 days being those that were not used during the period of martial law.
The law is intended to provide much-needed rest and respite to Ukrainian soldiers who have been continuously on duty in conflict zones. Palisa stated that this measure represents a significant step in supporting the well-being of the military personnel and is part of a broader governmental strategy to maintain troop morale and readiness. The decision has been welcomed by military officials and families of soldiers who have been affected by the prolonged deployment of their loved ones.
The implementation of this law is expected to be a key part of Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to sustain its military operations while also ensuring that soldiers have the opportunity to recover and regroup. The provision of guaranteed leave is seen as a crucial aspect of maintaining both the physical and mental health of the armed forces, particularly during sustained and high-intensity conflicts.
