Poland’s Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced the opening of a large-scale training facility for Polish and Ukrainian military personnel in the south of the country on September 1. The facility, which is currently under construction with assistance from NATO countries and Norway, will serve as a critical hub for joint military training and readiness. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen the capacity of both nations’ armed forces in response to ongoing security challenges in the region.
The training ground, located in the southern part of Poland, is expected to accommodate a significant number of military personnel from both Poland and Ukraine. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating that it will enhance interoperability and operational effectiveness between the two armed forces. The facility is designed to facilitate a wide range of military exercises, including combat simulations, logistics training, and tactical maneuvers.
Support for the project comes from several NATO member states and Norway, which have provided financial and technical assistance to ensure its successful completion. This international cooperation underscores the growing solidarity among Western nations in supporting Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The Polish government has also highlighted the strategic significance of the training ground in bolstering regional security and deterring potential threats.
