Poland’s Deputy PM Gawkowski Criticizes President Nawrocki Over Starlink Veto

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalization of Poland Krzysztof Gawkowski has publicly criticized President Karol Nawrocki for the veto of an amendment to the law on assistance to citizens. The amendment, which would have ensured continued support for Starylink and cloud data storage services to Ukraine, is now blocked. Gawkowski has raised concerns that this decision could lead to the disconnection of these crucial services for Ukraine.

The controversy has sparked discussions within Poland’s political sphere, with Gawkowski emphasizing the importance of maintaining technological and communication support for Ukraine. He argues that the veto could undermine Poland’s strategic cooperation with Kyiv and potentially jeopardize the country’s efforts to assist in Ukraine’s defense and digital infrastructure.
