PlayCity Launches System to Track Illegal Online Gambling Sites

Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation has announced the launch of a new system by PlayCity, the state agency responsible for gambling and lottery regulation. The system, which is designed to track and monitor illegal websites that host unregulated online casinos, enables users to check the legality of these platforms and submit complaints. This initiative is part of Ukraine’s broader efforts to strengthen its digital regulatory framework and protect consumers from fraudulent online gambling activities.

The system will allow users to enter the URLs of online casinos and receive information on whether they are operating legally under Ukrainian law. PlayCity will also accept complaints from users about suspected illegal gambling sites and take appropriate action to shut them down. The move is seen as a significant step in Ukraine’s fight against illegal online gambling, which has been a growing concern in the country due to the proliferation of unregulated platforms.

Minister of Digital Transformation Mykola Plotnytskyi stated that the initiative is part of Ukraine’s commitment to ensuring a safe and fair digital environment for its citizens. The government has been working to improve its digital infrastructure and regulatory framework, and this new system is expected to enhance the transparency and accountability of online gambling services. The initiative is also part of Ukraine’s efforts to align its digital regulations with international standards and protect users from cybercrime and fraud.
