The President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), Paul Grod, has revealed that a notable amount of Ukrainians living abroad are deferring their applications for multiple citizenship until after the general mobilization concludes. This decision is influenced by the ongoing conflict and the associated uncertainties in the region.
Grod emphasized that the current geopolitical climate and the pressing concerns related to the war in Ukraine are playing a crucial role in the delay of citizenship applications. He noted that many individuals are opting to wait until there is more clarity and stability before proceeding with the process of obtaining multiple citizenship.
The UWC, which represents diaspora communities of Ukrainian descent, has been actively working to support Ukrainian interests and maintain cultural ties with the homeland. Grod’s comments come amid continuing efforts to provide assistance and resources to those affected by the war.
