Former Classmate of Minneapolis Church Shooter Says She Knew Something Was Off

A former grade school classmate of the Minneapolis church shooter Robin Westman has come forward, sharing her concerns about his unusual behavior. Josefina Sanchez, who was a seventh-grade classmate of Westman, told KSTP that she sensed something was off with him. She recalled that Westman would say ‘praise Hitler’ during class, which she found unsettling.

Sanchez expressed regret over not doing anything sooner, acknowledging her youth limited her understanding of the situation. The shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church left two children dead and 17 others injured, with all weapons used described as legally purchased by police. Police said Wednesday that Westman had no prior criminal record and all the weapons used in the mass shooting were ‘lawfully purchased.’

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara condemned the act as ‘absolutely incomprehensible,’ emphasizing the cruel nature of the crime against innocent children and worshippers. The incident has raised questions about gun control and mental health awareness in the community. The shooter’s background is being closely examined, and authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant in the face of such acts of violence.

The shooter, who identified as Robin Westman, had no prior criminal record, which has shocked many in the community. The case has also sparked discussions about how to address the growing concerns of gun violence and the importance of mental health support for individuals who may be at risk of committing such acts.
