Blizzard’s Diablo Devs Unionize Amid Microsoft’s Unionization Wave

Blizzard’s Diablo development team has joined the growing wave of unionization within the company, as over 450 developers have voted to form a union under the Communications Workers of America (CWA). This marks the fourth major team at Blizzard to unionize, following the World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and Story and Franchise Development teams. The unionization movement has also extended to other Microsoft properties, with Bethesda, ZeniMax Online Studios, and ZeniMax QA testers joining the effort. According to the CWA, over 3,500 Microsoft workers have now organized to fight for fair compensation, job security, and improved working conditions.

CWA is America’s largest communications and media labor union, and local 9510 president Jason Justice called the successful vote
