At the recent Nordic-Baltic Eight (NB8) summit, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen reaffirmed Denmark’s unwavering support for Ukraine, emphasizing a renewed commitment to providing military and financial aid. The meeting, attended by leaders from Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland, focused on strengthening the collective response to Russia’s ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Frederiksen announced that Denmark would increase its military assistance, including the provision of more advanced weaponry and ammunition, to help Ukraine defend its territory against Russian forces. She also reiterated the need for more stringent sanctions against Russia, targeting its financial institutions and energy sector to further isolate the nation economically.
