Police in Glendale, California, are investigating a suspected wedding crasher who allegedly stole a box containing around $60,000 in cash and checks during a wedding at the Renaissance Banquet Hall. The Glendale Police Department confirmed the incident occurred on Aug. 31 at approximately 12:50 a.m.
Surveys footage shows the suspect entering the venue, grabbing the box, and fleeing in a black Mercedes SUV. The victim, Nadeen Farahat, expressed her distress over the theft, describing it as a deeply personal moment during what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life.
Nadeen Farahat, the bride, told ABC News that she was terrified by the incident, emphasizing that this is a moment of great intimacy and joy. She noted how the suspect mingled with guests, even getting a drink at the bar before allegedly running off with the newlywed couple’s gifts. The groom, George Farahat, added that while they are upset about the crasher, they are focusing on the fact that the suspect did not hurt anyone or do anything to one of their guests.
ABC News reported that the newlyweds are offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the suspected wedding crasher’s arrest.
