Join UP! Ukraine, a prominent tour operator in the country, recently reported serving more than 236,000 domestic tourists during the summer season, marking a significant 70% increase compared to the previous year. This surge in tourism is attributed to the gradual recovery of the country’s tourism sector, which has shown resilience despite the ongoing challenges posed by the war in Ukraine.
CEO Iryna Mosulezna highlighted the positive trend during an interview with Interfax-Ukraine agency, emphasizing that the growth in domestic tourism indicates a renewed sense of confidence among Ukrainians in exploring their own country. This increased activity has not only boosted the tourism industry but also had a ripple effect on local economies, benefiting various sectors such as hospitality, transportation, and retail.
The success of the summer season can also be attributed to the government’s efforts to promote domestic tourism, including targeted marketing campaigns and the development of infrastructure aimed at enhancing the visitor experience. These initiatives have played a crucial role in attracting more tourists to Ukraine, contributing to the remarkable growth in visitor numbers.
With the continued efforts of both private and public sectors, the tourism industry in Ukraine is expected to sustain its momentum, further supporting the country’s economic recovery and fostering a sense of national pride through the exploration of its rich cultural and natural heritage.
