Penny Lancaster, the wife of legendary musician Rod Stewart, has spoken candidly about the importance of having children in their relationship. In an interview with Saga magazine, she revealed that she would have left Stewart if he had not agreed to have children with her. The couple, who married in 2007, have two sons together, Alastair Wallace and Aiden Patrick. Stewart, who already had six children from previous marriages, initially considered adoption with Lancaster five years ago but the plan did not materialize. Lancaster joked about her role in the relationship, saying she is ‘a mother of three,’ referring to Stewart as ‘a big baby who needs my attention in a different way.’
Despite the age difference, Lancaster has managed to maintain a happy marriage with Stewart, who is still very much in love with her after 18 years. In July 2024, Stewart revealed how he keeps their marriage alive by enjoying candle-lit dinners and being honest with each other. He emphasized the importance of communication and avoiding arguments before bedtime, especially after drinking. Lancaster also shared her perspective on their enduring relationship, attributing it to family and the strength provided by their younger generation. She noted Stewart’s energetic personality, pointing out that he can’t sit still and is always on the go.
