In response to the evolving nature of modern warfare, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has decided to establish Assault Troops as a separate branch within the armed forces. Major Andriy Kovalev, the spokesperson for the General Staff, explained that this move is a necessary development, given the distinct operational characteristics of Airborne Assault Troops and Assault Troops. The decision comes as part of a broader strategy to enhance the effectiveness and specialization of Ukraine’s military capabilities.
