Canada Accelerates Efforts with Ukraine, US, EU for Immediate Return of Ukrainian Children

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced that Canada will intensify its efforts to facilitate the immediate return of Ukrainian children, working closely with Ukraine, the United States, and the European Union. As co-chair of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, Carney emphasized that Canada is taking a leading role in coordinating international efforts to secure the swift repatriation of these children.

The initiative comes as part of broader international efforts to address the humanitarian crisis affecting Ukrainian children displaced by the conflict. Carney highlighted the importance of diplomatic coordination and logistical support to ensure that the children are returned to their families as soon as possible. Canada has already established working groups with Ukrainian authorities and has been facilitating communication between families and their children in refugee camps across Europe and North America.

Carney also reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing ongoing humanitarian aid and support to Ukrainian families affected by the conflict. The Prime Minister stressed that the safety and well-being of Ukrainian children remain a top priority, and that Canada will continue to work closely with international partners to achieve this goal.
