Dallas ICE Facility Shooting: 3 Killed, Shooter Dies Amid Political Tensions

A gunman opened fire on detainees at a Dallas immigration facility on Wednesday, killing one and wounding two before taking his own life on a nearby rooftop. Sources familiar with the investigation confirmed the shooter as Joshua Jahn, 29, who struck three detainees in an unmarked transport van before committing suicide.

The FBI director, Kash Patel, shared a photo of rifle-caliber ammunition engraved with an ‘anti-ICE’ message, suggesting the attack was politically motivated. Authorities identified the shooting as targeting law enforcement, with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Governor Greg Abbott condemning the attack as an assault on law and order.

Wednesday’s shooting happened only miles from Prarieland, Texas, where just two months ago an individual ambushed a separate ICE facility targeting officers. In total, 16 people have been charged in the ambush-style shooting of an Alvarado police officer who was responding to reports of vandalism at the facility.
